Pianist
Saaya Matsumoto
Born in Miyakonojo, Japan, in 1991, Saaya Matsumoto began studying piano at the age of three. Raised in a family passionate about music, she was immersed in a rich variety of sounds that nurtured her creativity. At eighteen, she discovered jazz and moved to Fukuoka to study and perform in the city's vibrant music scene.
Across Fukuoka and Kyushu, Saaya gained recognition for her warm tone, sensitive phrasing, and engaging stage performance, collaborating with diverse musicians and ensembles. As pianist for the big band Advanced Music Gallery, she performed with acclaimed vocalist and flugelhorn player TOKU, participating in his recording project Dear Mr. SINATRA and nationwide tour in 2015 and 2016.
In 2018, Saaya was selected as one of the seven pianists to perform aboard the luxurious Seven Stars in Kyushu cruise train. In 2020, she was featured on a TV programme 1 Munite for the Future, highlighting her unique musical journey. Her debut album, Precious, was released in October 2022, showcasing her voice as both composer and performer.
Since relocating to London in 2023, Saaya has recorded at the prestigious Metropolis Studios and peformed at diverse venues across the city. Blending her Japanese roots with international jazz influences, her expressive and lyrical style continues to captivate audiences, connecting with listners through nuanced improvisation and heartfelt storytelling.

松元 沙綾
1991年、宮崎県都城市生まれ。3歳よりピアノを始め、音楽を愛する家族のもとで育ち、多様な音楽に触れながら自然と表現力を培った。18歳でジャズに出会い、その自由さと奥深さに魅了されて福岡へ拠点を移し、本格的に演奏活動を開始する。
福岡や九州各地で活動を重ねるなかで、温かみのある音色と繊細なフレージング、そして観客を包み込むようなステージングによって注目を集め、多くのミュージシャンやバンドと共演。ビッグバンド「Advanced Music Gallery」では、ヴォーカリスト・フリューゲルホーン奏者のTOKUと共演し、アルバム「Dear Mr. SINATRA」のレコーディングや全国ツアーに参加した。
2018年には、九州を代表する豪華クルーズトレイン「ななつ星 in 九州」に選出された「ななにんのピアニスト」の一人として乗車し演奏。2020年にはテレビ番組「ミライへの1minute」に出演し、独自の音楽的歩みが紹介された。2022年10月には、作曲家としての一面をも示したデビューアルバム「Precious」をリリース。
さらなる表現の広がりを求め、2023年より活動拠点をロンドンに移す。世界的に名高いMetropolis Studiosでのレコーディングをはじめ、多彩な会場での演奏を重ねている。日本的な感性と国際的なジャズのエッセンスを融合させた演奏は、聴衆との深い共鳴を呼び起こし、心に残る音楽体験を届けている。
